What are Semi-permanent Eyelash Extensions Made of?

All eyelash extensions are made from a material called PBT (Polybutylene terephthalate). PBT is a strong synthetic fiber that resistant to solvents, maintains is form, heat resistant up to 150 C and can be made flame retardant.  Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extensions are single synthetic or natural hair* that are applied one-by-one to your natural eyelashes with a medical grade adhesive formulated solely for the application of semi-permanent eyelash extensions.

How are Eyelash Extensions Applied?

Eyelash extensions can enhances the length and fullness of your natural eyelashes. Semi-permanent eyelash extensions are available in different lengths, thickness and curls. For the application process, an isolation method is performed using fine-tipped tweezers where one natural eyelash is separated and the extension is then applied to the natural eyelash 1-2 mm away from the eyelid.  The great thing about semi-permanent eyelash extensions is that they can be customized to each and every client. Lash extensions are manufactured in different lengths and thicknesses, which are measured in millimeters. Lengths ranging from 0.7mm-.16mm and thickness .06mm-.30mm.

What to Look for in an Eyelash Extension Technician?

As a technician it is our responsibility to make sure that the length and thickness of the lash extension is suitable for the natural lash. If a lash extension is too tick or too long to properly bond to the natural lash It could potentially cause the extension to shead sooner and even cause permanent lash damage. Also, as a technician I highly recommend a consultation to discuss your desired look and to determine the best beauty treatment for you!
